Namefor a Foreign Business Entity
The name of the business entity, including abbreviations, punctuation, etc., must be stated exactly as it appears on file in the state or country of formation. If the name is not available for use in North Carolina because it is not distinguishable from another name already on the business register, the entity is required to use a fictitious name, which must be stated on the application.
