What We Do

The North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State collects data from appointing and reporting persons, agencies and entities that provides a breakdown of state, municipal and county board and commission appointments by the number of men and women appointed to each board and commission.

The Department does not independently research this information and does not have the authority or the resources to verify the accuracy of the data reported. The Department is not responsible for missing or incorrectly reported data.

Anyone having questions about the reported information for a specific governmental body should contact the appointing or reporting person, agency or entity for that governmental body with their questions or concerns.
