Please be aware that you are not required to respond to the solicitation mailing. If you have received one of these mailings, please do the following:
- Determine if the requirement is valid by checking your company’s records on the NC Secretary of State’s website. If there is an annual report that is due or will be due soon, you may file online directly with the NC Secretary of State at www.sosnc.gov for a much lower fee.
- Report receiving the misleading mailing to the Consumer Protection Division of the NC Attorney General’s Office at https://ncdoj.gov/protecting-consumers/
- If you have already remitted payment in response to a solicitation and you suspect it was misleading or deceptive, please take immediate action and notify the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division at the above link. You may be able to have your money refunded.
